Tickets are now on sale for Forever Tango, dancing its way back to Broadway beginning July 9! Luis Bravo’s acclaimed dance revue is scheduled to play a limited engagement through September 15, with an official opening night set for July 14 at the Walter Kerr Theatre.
Forever Tango traces the birth of salsa music and dance from 19th-century Buenos Aires to its more modern manifestations. The new incarnation of the production, featuring 16 dancers and an 11-piece orchestra alongside rotating celebrity vocalists, will launch on Broadway before heading out on a U.S. and international tour. Five-time Grammy winner Gilberto Santa Rosa will take the stage as a guest vocalist for the initial three weeks of the engagement.
Created and directed by Bravo, Forever Tango originally opened in 1997 at Broadway’s Walter Kerr Theatre before transferring to the Marquis Theatre. It earned a Tony nomination for Best Choreography. In 2004, the production returned to Broadway’s Shubert Theatre for a four-month engagement.
